Spam filtering provided by a combination of SpamAssassin and Mailscanner , this combination successfully blocks the vast majority of spam that would normally make it to your inbox.
SpamAssassin is a mature, widely-deployed open source project that serves as a mail filter to identify Spam. SpamAssassin uses a variety of mechanisms including header and text analysis, Bayesian filtering, DNS blocklists, and collaborative filtering databases. Anti Virus Scanning
Anti virus scanning is provided by a combination of ClamAV and Mailscanner. With this combination, we block a substantial number of virus and malformed emails from reaching your inbox. This scanning is performed both inbound and outbound. We do not recommend relying on ANY ISP virus solution 100%. We recommend you continue to use your current anti virus solution your local computer.
Clam AntiVirus is a GPL anti-virus toolkit for UNIX. The main purpose of this software is the integration with mail servers (attachment scanning). The package provides a flexible and scalable multi-threaded daemon, a command line scanner, and a tool for automatic updating via Internet. The programs are based on a shared library distributed with the Clam AntiVirus package, which you can use with your own software. Most importantly, the virus database is kept up to date .MailScanner scans all incoming email for virus, spam and security vulnerabilities and plays a major part in securing our email servers. Mailscanner also scans for email phishing scams.
